Buzz Collins and Chelsea McDermott of The Morning Buzz can be heard weekday’s from 6 ‘til 10 on Kingston’s heritage station,The Greatest Hits of all Time 104.3 CKWS-FM. Playing nothing but the greatest hits of all time Buzz claims the only time he really feels like he’s earning his paycheck are during those few steps from the bed to the shower at 3:30am. When asked how he’s able to have that much energy that early in the morning, Buzz’s says, “When you’re genuinely having as much fun as we are, the energy is naturally there! Chelsea and I laugh just as much when the microphones are turned off as we do when they’re on!”
Buzz is a graduate of Western Academy Broadcasting College and landed his first on-air gig in the summer of ’88 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Since then he’s been on the air non-stop with turns in Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary and for the past six years, here in the beautiful Limestone City.
When Buzz isn’t rockin’ the morning airwaves, he tours throughout North America performing comedy hypnosis shows in places like Seattle, New York and Las Vegas. However, despite his accomplishments behind the microphone as well as on the live stage, the role he says he’s most proud of is that of husband as well as father to four amazing kids!
Chelsea is excited to be joining Buzz on "The Morning Buzz" weekdays from 6 til 10! She is originally from Toronto but comes to us from Cornwall where she began her career in Radio. Starting as a Cruiser Girl, moving into Promotions and eventually joining the air waves with Buzz, Monica and Dave here in Kingston.
After graduating from Ryerson's RTA program in 2008, Chelsea has had a few interesting jobs... between working with a race car team in the U.S. and for a trampoline company, we've learned she moves fast and is ready to jump into absolutely anything! She is always looking for a new and exciting challenge and is ready to explore the great city of Kingston!
